Would Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker wait in line?
Star Wars fans will soon be able to enjoy an immersive trip into the world of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Princess Leia with Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studio’s Galaxy’s Edge. The new 14-acre additions to the famous theme parks opened at Disneyland Resort in California on May 31, and set to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida on Aug. 29. While admission is included in the Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios ticket price, reservations are required, at least in the first months, as occupancy in the new themed area will be limited.
Galaxy’s Edge will include two main attractions: Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run, where guests can travel inside Hans Solo’s famed spaceship, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, an elaborate four-part ride that enlists attendees as Resistance recruits. The second attraction won’t be open, however, until later in 2019. Themed restaurants, Star Wars shops, and costumed park workers will keep fans engaged in the Star Wars world. For example, Savi’s Workshop will let guests design and build their lightsabers, while Oga’s Cantina will serve themed alcoholic beverages to calm the nerves of adult visitors frazzled by the crowds.
