I'm gonna be on holidays in Chicago this summer (for 2 weeks). Where can you stay and get the best bang for your buck?

It depends on what you are looking to do. But, unlike some cities, Chicago is very centralized, by this, I mean that all the main attractions, best shops, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, etc. are all located in essentially the same general area: downtown. The best location to stay would be somewhere in Streeterville in my opinion. This area is the space between the beach/Lake Michigan, as well as Navy Pier and the Magnificant Mile. I would recommend staying at the Double Tree off of Ohio, near the intersection of Columbus. It is a great hotel, only around $100 per night, pool and very close to everything. There are other options though, for around the same price you could go a little closer to the Magnificant Mile without having to get too pricy on your stay with Aloft, The Ivy or Courtyard off of Ontario.

I found your page because I'm thinking of going to Chicago maybe this October. What's your favorite bar or neighborhood to go out for drinks?

In my opinion, River North is the spot to be.... nightlife, restaurants, hotels, not far from the magnificent mile. Two great hotels, that actually have popular rooftop lounges are The Godfrey and theWit-Double Tree. I’m that area there are also a ton of bars and clubs. Some popular spots are: Bottled Blonde, El Hefe, Trophy Room. Concrete Cowboy, Public House, Joy District, Cuvée, Underground, Electric Hotel, and Tunnel... if you are interested in any of these places, I could help you with guest lists, tables, bottle service, etc. if needed. Also, around that time, there will probably be a few bar-crawls for okerober fest, so that could be an option for you too, just keep in mind, most bar crawls are ticketed events
