Ica Peru - The Desert
If you're looking for some awesome excursions. You have to visit Desert Nights, Malecon de 139, Huacachina, Peru. They have a nice little hostel, very safe clean and friendly. The food at the restaurant is great and they also have great service. The excursions we did were, as you can see the four wheeler, and sandboarding. You lay on your stomach on a larger looking snowboard and coast down the sand dunes. There are other options for more experienced skiers and snowboarders as well.
Llamas and alpacas in Peru
Ladies and children were dressed up in traditional garb everywhere. It was thrilling to see men playing the flute and women carrying llamas in baby pouches. Check out our Instagram for more!
Enchanting Machu Picchu
So glad we finally got to go to Machu Picchu. We've been talking about it for about 2 to 3 years now and we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to go in February. January and February are rainy season in Machu Picchu but we got really lucky! As you can see by the sunlight in the photo 😁

What do I need to know before visiting Machu Picchu?
Machu Picchu is packed with tourists. I mean I knew that there will be other tourists but I certainly didn't expect so many of them. If you are not going to hike to Machu Picchu you don't need hiking boots, a good trail shoe will do. Pack some food with you, the site is big and you will need the whole day to visit everything and there is no food inside the Machu Picchu site, only in front of the entry. If going to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Moutain prepare for hiking 'millions' of stairs, hah ok probably not a million but there are really a lot of stairs to get to the top. Hiking on top of Huayna Picchu and/or Moutain will take you some time, due to the altitude, you will walk a bit slower than normal.
